"Great attitude" - Loads of Chelsea fans react to "brilliant words from a brilliant player"

Loads of Chelsea fans have been reacting on social media after Christian Pulisic offered his verdict on the mentality of Frank Lampard’s squad, following Tuesday night’s 4-4 draw with Ajax in the Champions League.

The Blues had to fight back from 4-1 down to salvage a point in the UEFA affair, which saw Chelsea score three goals in 11 minutes as Erik ten Hag witnessed his side fall to nine men after a double sending off by referee Gianluca Rocchi.

Pulisic has now stated that he nor his teammates ever thought a comeback wouldn’t be possible, and that Lampard’s half-time words of wisdom helped ensure heads remained high when doubt could easily have crept in.

“He [Lampard] gives us confidence, and he is the one who pushes us,” Pulisic told Chelsea’s official website. “He told us at half-time we would create chances and we would still win the game. We believed we could do it.

“You can see when you put a team under pressure like we did, it’s not easy. I felt we were dominating most of the second half and we had to keep going.

“We showed a lot of resilience and a lot of fight. Being down 4-1 and to think we were still able to come back is crazy. It says a lot about our team. Anything is possible, that’s our mentality.”

Pulisic, who joined Chelsea in the summer for £58million, was fouled for the penalty which led to Jorginho’s first equalising goal against Ajax, and delivered one key ball in the second-half.

The £145,000-per-week winger also played 22 passes, but only managed to find a teammate with 50% of his attempts, the lowest completion rate of his time in West London thus far.
