"Accident waiting to happen" - Many Spurs fans slam "complete liability" after Chelsea display
Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Chelsea to north London on Sunday night but they failed to match them throughout the 90 minutes and ended up losing the game 2-0.
For Jose Mourinho, this defeat must’ve hurt even more considering he used to coach the Blues years ago and he was practically outwitted by his former pupil, Frank Lampard.

But the fans, even though they were unhappy with many aspects of that clash, were actually mostly disappointed with one man’s performance.
Serge Aurier was once again picked by the Special One but his display didn’t really warrant Mourinho’s trust.
Or at least, that’s what many of their supporters seem to think as they were quick to bash the player on social media:
has to be said that Mourinho has bottled it. midfield axis of Dier/Sissoko is a calamity. Aurier is an accident waiting to happen. GLC, Ndombele & winks on the bench. And going to a back 5 when 2-0 down is one that he has to explain. #thfc

You know what is coming when you play Aurier, you just know.. why and who bought him? Why did Poch and now Mourinho play him? Play Foyth there, or KWP. Aurier has mistakes in him, every game.
Our team does not look good, looked the same v Man U away. What is wrong?#TOTCHE #THFC— David Williams (@DavidWilliamsDK) December 22, 2019
VERY bad day at the office all round.
Chelsea & Willian in particular were class.
Eric Dier is currently a passenger at best.
Aurier is a complete liability at the back.
Gazzaniga is a back up Goalie.
Son was petulant and deserved his red card.
Ndombele MUST start.#THFC

And it seems that they would rather play Juan Foyth in the right-back position as Aurier is hardly better than Kyle Walker-Peters – and they think he is costing them a goal almost every game.
The young Argentine defender, however, has so far only tallied 217 minutes across all competitions and could certainly use more game time under his belt.
Forever a Spurs legend: Honour Pochettino by getting 100% on this all-Poch quiz…
Serge Aurier is not going to turn into a player under any manager. He’s slightly better than KWP but nearly costs us a goal a game. #thfc

Foyth should start as RB. Aurier is not gonna enough.

Foyth in for Aurier

And looking at Aurier’s stats from the game, he was still decent with five tackles, one interception and five clearances but seems to be suffering from a lack of concentration – as Chelsea’s opener attested to.
One fan did admit that there are some positives to his game but they always come with obvious cons as well, which makes him a rather frustrating player to have in your team.
Wish someone could sort out Aurier’s concentration/focus issues.
He can defend and can deliver a decent ball but the team is so often undone by him being asleep or not tracking back with the right intensity etc.
So frustrating.

Elsewhere, Barcelona should resist the temptation of snatching away Manchester United’s young prodigy…
