"Such a shame", "Unpredictable" - Many Charlton fans react to possible January departure
Charlton Athletic could terminate Jonathan Leko’s loan from West Bromwich Albion if his knee injury turns out to be serious, as reported by London News Online.
This comes after the 20-year-old was forced off after just 11 minutes of the Addicks’ 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

It is suggested that the original prognosis after the game was not a positive one, while Charlton don’t have the luxury of being able to wait for Leko’s return.
Charlton look set to cut short Beram Kayal’s loan – and they could do the same with Jonathan Leko if his ankle injury is (as feared) a serious one https://t.co/lHORaJkTEf

This news has left many Charlton fans disappointed, as they feel that Leko has something to offer Lee Bowyer’s side when fit.
So far this campaign, the loanee has made 19 starts and two substitute appearances, scoring five goals and adding a further four assists.
Addicks fans have labelled this development as a “shame”, with the youngster being referred to as “unconventional” and “unpredictable”
Shame for Leko. Unconventional technique and style which people find frustrating, but has had some good games this season and is one our only players quick enough to take on a fullback. #cafc

I’ve seen quite a few away games this season plus the sky coverage of Sky Sports Charlton and I safely say I would miss Leko not being at the club. Unpredictable. #cafc

Would be a shame about Leko, has looked decent of late to be fair to him. Kayal unfortunately can’t say I’d miss.

There are some who are hoping to see Leko return to the Valley next summer if he does end up leaving in January.
Charlton have used the loan market to push themselves on and an example of this comes with Josh Cullen, who returned this season, having helped earn promotion through the play-offs last term.

The hope among these fans is that Leko will be another to return, with one even hinting that Charlton should move to sign him permanently.
Would definitely go back for Leko next summer. Frustrating at times but makes things happen. Only a young boy, will improve imo

Potential for Leko to come back on loan next season or possibly sign him up. I’d welcome him back as a Charlton player.

Will be gutted for Leko, was hoping we might actually sign him #CAFC
