Loads of Arsenal fans drool over "MOTM" who "made Rashford look like a Sunday league player"
Arsenal tallied an impressive victory over Manchester United on Wednesday and started the new year in the best possible way.
Mikel Arteta also got his first scalp as the Gunners’ new gaffer and the fact that the Red Devils were his first victim will no doubt make the victory that much sweeter – these are two historic rivals, after all.

And while it was a great effort by the whole collective, many of their fans did not shy away from showering some specific players with praise after the clash at the Emirates.
One such player was the 22-year-old Ainsley Maitland-Niles who had a “gargantuan” game against a tough opponent according to one supporter.

Had turned into a prime Cafu

One fan even stated that he is already better than Hector Bellerin while one compared him to Cafu in his prime.
As far as compliments go, that surely takes the cake as one of the best he’s ever received. But the fans were also quick to note that Arteta is partly responsible for this great transformation, believing Maitland-Niles is thriving under the new coach.
Can you name all of these obscure Arsenal signings? Give it a go now!
They commended him for that and for making a huge step up in recent games.
Maitland-Niles has been phenomenal since Arteta stepped through the door. The whole team have stepped up massively.

Let’s take a moment and appreciate Ainsley Maitland Niles for his performances recently. The guy underwent so much stress at right back that he had to take counselling. He’s returned a different player also helped by Arteta’s setup. One of our own.❤️

I know AMN doesn’t want the job but him under @m8arteta has been a revelation. Confidence, athleticism, getting the job done.

Of course, the biggest takeaway from the game for some of the fans was the ease with which their player handled Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial throughout the game, the duo managing just three shots between them.
Needless to say, they absolutely loved that and his three tackles, two clearances and four interceptions prove that he was indeed a rock in the backline.
Not to mention that he recorded team-highest 97 touches on the night.
Did Rashford played!

Oh…wow…
You mean Martial was on the pitch tonight??

Rashford and Martial both were switching their positions because they couldn’t deal with Maitland-Niles on their wing.

Meanwhile, Arsenal might finally solve their defensive woes by landing a true rock in the back…
