No one wants to buy Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea wage cuts & Blues tried to sign Alex Telles in February
No one wants to buy Kepa Arrizabalaga
The world’s most expensive keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, is facing a difficult situation at Chelsea.
This season, manager Frank Lampard dropped Kepa for a series of matches due to his below-par performances in goal.
And, according to ESPN today, Chelsea are open to selling their 71.6 million pound acquisition.
But there’s a problem. There are no takers for Kepa – at least, we presume, at the price Chelsea paid for him. ESPN report:
Chelsea are struggling to drum up interest in goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Manager Frank Lampard is open to selling the Spain international… but there seems to be very little appetite to take the 25-year-old off Chelsea’s hands.
Blues agree 10% pay cut
The Telegraph have confirmed that Chelsea’s squad have agreed to a 10% pay cut for the next four months.
Unlike Arsenal, there are no provisions for Chelsea’s players to recoup the money should they qualify for the Champions League.
As for Frank Lampard, the Telegraph report that while the manager is also willing to have his wages cut, that’s yet to happen.

Chelsea tried to sign Alex Telles in February
Brazilian portal Globo have posted an update on Porto left-back Alex Telles.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at Porto at the end of next season.
According to Globo, PSG are leading the charge to sign the South American defender.
However, Chelsea are name-dropped as the Parisians’ main rival. Readers are told:
Chelsea are also interested in signing the full-back.
In February, the Blues made a “strong” push for Alex Telles, but now that football has stopped because of the coronavirus, the conversations have cooled.
