Why is Sir Chips Keswick ready to quit Arsenal?
According to Amy Lawrence, it’s because Sir Chips is frustrated with his inability to enforce any change at the club.
At the same time, Sir Chips also seems keen to divorce himself from the current malaise at Arsenal:
(Sir Chips) feels unable to be a part of any decision making which now lies solely with the football operations hierarchy.
He doesn’t want to carry the can for the current situation.

What is Sir Chips Keswick’s role at Arsenal?
The truth is, that’s rather unclear these days.
Since Arsene Wenger’s departure from Arsenal the club have undergone a major overhaul behind the scenes.
Edu Gaspar is now the club’s technical director, while Raul Sanllehi is the head of football.
Edu and Sanllehi are in charge of Arsenal’s recruitment strategy.
Meanwhile, Vinai Venkatesham is the managing director and Huss Fahmy is the club’s chief negotiator.
Finally, there’s owner Stan Kroenke (who is generally anonymous at Arsenal), and his son Josh, who is a director on the Gunners board.
Arsenal 2 – Southampton 2
A late goal from Alexandre Lacazette failed to lift the negative mood around the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Southampton twice took the lead against Arsenal.
Danny Ings opened for the Saints, while James Ward Prowse scored in the second half as he converted the rebound from his saved penalty.
Lacazette levelled for Arsenal in the first half.
