"Best game for us", "Tremendous" - Many Palace fans rave about 29 y/o who was a "big surprise"
A real Premier League veteran now, Cheikhou Kouyate produced arguably one of his finest performances in a Crystal Palace shirt on Saturday afternoon against Liverpool.
The Senegal international has been an ever-present in the top-flight with both West Ham and now Palace, racking up a total of 170 appearances in English football’s top division.
This season alone has seen him feature ten times, with the only league games that he has missed coming in the opening two match-days against Everton and Sheffield United respectively when he was on the bench.
Against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend, the 29-year-old produced a bull-dozing display, winning seven duels, making four interceptions and providing two key passes.
After seeing his fine performance, Palace fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the midfielder.
Many supporters of the side hailed him for having a star showing, with one fan in particular suggesting that it was his best game for the club.
