Liverpool’s suspension problem vs Brighton, Mohamed Salah injury update & Crystal Palace’s Joel Ward injury blow
Crystal Palace 1 – Liverpool 2
Since Crystanbul, Liverpool have now beaten Crystal Palace in their last five visits to Selhurst Park.
On Saturday, Jurgen Klopp’s charges recorded another Premier League win in south London.
Sadio Mane fired Liverpool ahead early in the second half.
However, Palace thought they’d earned a share of the spoils when Wilfried Zaha levelled in the 83rd minute – that was Zaha’s first league goal of the season.
However, the visitors won the match in the final stages as Roberto Firmino scored after Palace failed to clear a corner.
Liverpool’s suspension problem vs Brighton
On Wednesday night at Anfield, Liverpool face Napoli in the Champions League.
While next Saturday in the Premier League, Brighton are Liverpool’s opponents on Merseyside.
Unfortunately for Klopp, he’ll be without Brazilian midfielder Fabinho for the Brighton game.
Fabinho is suspended after he collected his fifth booking of the season in the win at Crystal Palace.
Paul Merson: "You know who Fabinho reminds me of? Gareth Barry.”

Crystal Palace’s Joel Ward injury blow
Not only did Palace lose, but they also lost Joel Ward to injury.
Ward, who passed a late fitness test on Saturday because of a groin problem, picked up a knock when he clashed knees in the Liverpool game.
Eventually, Ward was replaced by Martin Kelly in the second half.
After the match, Roy Hodgson gave the following update on his right-back:
I’m worried because it was a knee-to-knee clash near the touchline. I can’t enlighten you for obvious reasons. He has to be assessed, and that probably won’t take place until Monday now.
He’ll be having a total examination of the knee injury he’s got and then we’ll find out the extent of it.
If it’s going to be an injury which takes a period of time it’s something we can ill-afford as that’s an area of the squad where we don’t have as much back-up as we do for example in the midfield area, where we have quite a lot of players fighting for a place.
In fact today we weren’t planning to replace Joel Ward, we were planning to give James McCarthy his chance to come on alongside [Jeffrey] Schlupp and replace our two unbelievably hard-working midfield players either side of Luka [Milivojevic], but that had to be cancelled when Joel went down and Martin [Kelly] had to be a substitute for him.
