"This would be a top signing" - Many Arsenal fans react to transfer link with "absolute baller"

Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Mirror reported that Granit Xhaka would be used as a makeweight in the Gunners’ bid to land Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

Xhaka hasn’t played for the north Londoners since being booed off the pitch against Crystal Palace, with Unai Emery stripping the Switzerland international of the captaincy for his reaction to the jeers.

22-year-old Zakaria has been in excellent form for the German side – who Xhaka used to play for – as Monchengladbach sit top of the Bundesliga.

Zakaria has contributed two goals and one assist in 11 Bundesliga appearances this season from a centre-midfield role, and The Mirror report that a move back to Monchengladbach would ‘appeal’ to the out-of-favour Xhaka.

One fan said that Zakaria should be Arsenal’s “priority signing”, while another supporter said that the deal would be “great business”.
