"Gutted", "Unreal" - Lots of Celtic fans react to exit report on "waste of a wage"
Oh Scotty Sinclair.
Following three and a half years of glowing service at Celtic, it appears Sinclair’s wonderful stint at the club is reaching its conclusion.
According to a recent report from the Daily Record, Sinclair has left Celtic’s training camp in Dubai in order to hold talks with Preston North End boss Alex Neil regarding a potential January move.
Stoke are also rumoured to be interested but Preston have already made an official approach to Peter Lawwell.
The 30-year-old winger has found himself firmly on the periphery of the first team this season, playing just 17 minutes of competitive action in the Scottish Premiership and regularly finding himself omitted from the matchday squad entirely.
Given his lack of involvement so far, it’s absolutely no surprise that interest is beginning to emerge and it seems a mid-season transfer is in the best interests of all parties concerned at this stage.
In response to the latest report, plenty of the Hoops faithful offered Sinclair their best wishes on his new challenge.
Scott Sinclair has been an absolutely tremendous signing for us, that first season he was unplayable up hereπ₯ good luck tae him at Preston if he ends up signing

Gutted that Scott Sinclair is leaving us, but it's the best move for him. Wish him all the best ππ

Won’t have a bad word said about Scott Sinclair. Unbelievable for 18 months and key to our invincible treble side.
Treated awfully these last six months and I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

Scott Sinclair was the top goalscorer of the treble treble era. He was unplayable during the invincibles season, got nothing but good memories from him.
Nothing lasts forever and I wish him well at Preston. He can look back proudly on his Celtic career and what he achieved.

Two fans, meanwhile, alluded to his lack of involvement.
One suggested the club are burning money by continuing to pay a player who is rarely involved, while another expressed sympathy to Sinclair over the manner in which he has been frozen out under Lennon this season.
Well, looks like Scott Sinclair is away. Good luck to him, he was brilliant for 18 months, but a waste of a wage at the moment π

If Scott Sinclair really is on his way to Preston North End then I hope it works out for him. A great guy who was on a different level in his first 18 months at Celtic, and who’s been treated harshly the past 6 months.

This supporter took that conversation a step further by suggesting Sinclair would have been a superior option to Lewis Morgan in the centre-forward position.
Still think Scott Sinclair should've been used more. He would've been a much more effective CF than Morgan too, no excuse for not using him more….if fit.

Finally, one fan simply reminisced over his debut season for the club and it’s easy to see why.
The former Manchester City winger immediately became a Paradise hero by scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists in just 35 league appearances. And so the chant was born.
Scott Sinclair's debut season for Celtic was unreal
