"Liquidate club", "Sickening" - Loads of Man Utd fans react to link with "bang average" player
Evening Standard have claimed Manchester United are considering a fresh bid for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently struggling with a crisis in the middle of the park and a quick fix could be pursued to fill the voids left by Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, who are sidelined for one month and two months respectively.

But upon seeing this update, many Man United fans were simply fuming that their club is even linked with someone of Longstaff’s calibre.
The first reaction, of course, was to slam their owners and Ed Woodward for relegating them to an option such as the Newcastle youngster, who has only ever made 23 Premier League appearances.
I really don’t know what Ed Woodward and Matt judge are thinking . With all the midfielders in the world , they think Sean longstaff is the best option. The club I used to love is dead and gone.

It’s the standards that have dropped Stacey, the Glazers favor cheap and average players like their standards.

If you cant even attract players from average clubs, what’s the use of calling yourself one of the biggest clubs in the world, Woodward masterclass taking the club to new lows #WoodwardOut #GlazersOut https://t.co/lH07gJ0nUl

Of course, there were people who were simply disgusted with this update, not pointing fingers directly at someone but rather just voicing their incredible disappointment.
Words like “sickening” and “heartbreaking” were thrown around and one fan even declared that the club should be liquidated.
Sickening.

Some fans stated that they would rather give the likes of James Garner a shot in the squad rather than going for Longstaff.
Quickfire Quiz: How much do you know about Man Utd’s history in the January transfer window?
I would rather play James Garner than buy that Longstaff
— Nana Yaw (@MUFC_Massive) January 2, 2020
I’d rather just let James Garner or Angel Gomes slot into midfield than spend £50m+ on someone who is bang average
— Jon (@Jay1279) January 2, 2020
We’ve got better James Garner

And there were fans who blame it all on Solskjaer and one even stated that their gaffer should be immediately sacked if this transfer goes through.
If ole actually signs this guy he should be sacked immediately

Ole is destroying his legend status day by day, match by match… At least he is smiling about it though
