"This makes me want to cry" - Many Aston Villa fans react to transfer link with GK target
Tom Heaton has sustained an injury to his knee ligaments that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season, as reported by the club’s official channels.
This leaves the club’s hierarchy with a decision to make about whether they will sign a replacement during the summer.

Villa fans are far from impressed by these links, as plenty of them have completely dismissed the idea of signing the 26-year-old.
In the 19 Championship games he has played this season, Butland has managed just three clean sheets, conceding a total of 32 goals.
His cause is also not helped by the fact that he has made three errors that have led to the opposition scoring this term.

There have been suggestions made that Dean Smith would be better off using Orjan Nyland in Heaton’s absence than making the signing.
The Norwegian has only had one start this campaign, which came in the 5-0 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool, making eight saves in a performance that saw him named Man of the Match by SofaScore.
One fan suggested that the Norwegian “looks a new player recently” while another has said they should “let Nyland have the job”.
I’d literally rather play Nyland thanks.
